I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

My friend would have to buy the bags back at $5 per bag, one at a time, until she put everything in them away.

Excellent plan. I once heaped my roommates' phenomenal piles of crap up in front of their doors while they were sleeping. They had to deal with it before they could get to the bathroom in the morning. Things got neater after that. The lesson? Don't piss off the one morning person in the household.

My room was always a complete tip when I was a teenager. It still usually is when i'm at home, actually, but at least now I pay rent and have a leg to stand on. I was the good daughter though, so my parents didnt particularly mind it, unless the moldy plates really started building up.

Damnit. I now have the sneezes and watery eyes.

I'm still going to procede as if I'm driving to NC this weekend (ie, cram all the prep I should have done LAST week into this week) but if this is a cold, and acts like prior colds, I'll probably be out of commission. I was lukewarm about going, but it would suck to not go because I feel like crap.

Coding and Sleeping

My room was pretty messy as a kid, but the mess was pretty much all paper, so there wasn't anything growing in it.

If you need a dose of irony, there is an article from FAIR with lots of quotes from the media about how the Iraq War was over and done from three years ago.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Big Salon article: The Battle to Ban Birth Control

Gah, these people just fill me with despair. So epically wrong-headed and contemptuous of women (under cover of being so very deeply concerned for our fragile well-being), so utterly destructive. And I bloody well hate the jackholes who are running the Catholic Church. Humana Vitae was an ethical and theological catastrophe, and it's given so much ammunition to so many terrible people (and wrecked the careers of the priests who were vocal in opposition to it).

Fuck fuck fuck. Yesterday as I was leaving church, a nice old church lady stopped another woman and me asking us to sign a petition putting parental notification on the ballot for November. The other woman said she'd have to think about it. I told the petitioner exactly why I was hell no not under any circumstances gonna sign that thing and why I believed it was completely wrong, unnecessary, and harmful to the most vulnerable of the girls it purportedly sought to protect -- I was loud enough for the other woman to hear, and I hope like hell I convinced the other woman to not sign (she did leave without signing yesterday, anyhow). But I'm still shaking over it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Ah.

It seems that Billy West got it wrong when he announced that there are 26 new episodes of Futurama on the way, and instead there will only be the 4 movies as planned. "

From Slashdot [link]

Actual link to story is not loading for me....

eta: OK, it loaded:

Guys,

I'm sorry I gave inaccurate info on the cartoon.I was told on one end that the TV show was a go but DXC enlightened me (with a hammer) that this was not the case.I think there is a Futurama project as in DVD's but I appearently had bad info. But I do live to give good Futurama news to people. So I must've died or something.

All eyes on the skies,

Billy

information libertarian

I like this one best:

"The war was the hard part. The hard part was putting together a coalition, getting 300,000 troops over there and all their equipment and winning. And it gets easier. I mean, setting up a democracy is hard, but it is not as hard as winning a war." (Fox News Channel's Fred Barnes, 4/10/03)

Man has obviously never run a volunteer organization committee meeting in his life, if he thinks setting up a democracy is easy.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

My friend would have to buy the bags back at $5 per bag, one at a time, until she put everything in them away.

Damn. That's...a good idea. I think five years ago I would have been apalled, but now I've lived with messy disgusting people, it's a good way to break teenagers of the habit. But damn.
