"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oooh, I forgot TAR started tonight, even though all y'all were talking about it starting. I won't read the whitefont in case I get to watch it later.

I like water chestnuts, but the SO who is also a texture freak hates them. He also hates the sweet black beans I make him eat for luck on New Year's in memory of my grandmother, so he swallows one like a pill every year. Hee. (The connection is that those beans come with water chestnuts and seaweed, none of which has its usual texture and instead is quite soft and chewy and sweet.)

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Okay, because I'm nuts, I checked and Gigi should be three. The episode where she was born was in February 2003.

Huh. Well, ok then.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I enjoy beets, spinach, okra. The only thing I have never been able to like, no matter how hard my grandmother and honorary southern mommas tried to feed me, was collard greens. Ugh.

OMG y'all I just got home from watching Walk the Line and my accent has regressed like WOAH. so wrong.

Who said this? Because as Steph can attest, I totally fell back into Tennessee drawl when I watched this movie, especially 'cause it's full of tennessee accents.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

oooh other water chesnut haters. For me they just make a noise I don't like, and have no taste. I can eat them, but I am not sure why I should. hate iceberg lettuce too. I think most people eat it for the dressing. I prefer my greens to have flavor.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

TAR: My show is baaaack!! When the ep started, I picked either the gay guys or the geeks to be eliminated, and I was half right. Delighted to find that I chose wrong with the latter couple, since I ended up liking them more than I thought I would. I would not have minded if the Frosties did finish last, though, since they shrieked far worse than the Bowling Moms ever did .

So, we have a bunch of nicknames already: the hippies, the frosties, the nerds/geeks, Team Slacker (ok, that's just my name for them, but they're so damn proud to not be working for a living--must be great not to be worrying about bills), and MoJo. Any others?

Oh, and I really felt for the Chicago woman who was being ogled while putting together the motorcycle. Those macho dudes were really blatant about it, and you can tell it was getting to both of them.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Reading everybody's food skeeves is a good reminder for me that, when it comes to food, I am the weirdo because I have so few food dislikes. I am fond of pretty much all the cuisines mentioned so far, especially sushi. I love bitter veggies like spinach and collard greens and kale (although the best greens by far are beet greens). I hated okra when I was a kid, but now I love it too. I prefer my chocolate dark and my meat rare, but I take my coffee with cream & sugar.

I'd say my main food aversion is green peppers. And raw oysters. I'd repressed them for a second.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, I meant to say -- msbelle did not lie. She was like unintelligible.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I like milk chocolate, and cream in my (strong) coffee, but no sugar.

Earl Grey iced tea with lemon, no sugar.

Salty for breakfast rather than sweet.
