I think I just watched Dubya's favorite movie of all time on TCM. It's called Gabriel Over the White House --
No, that movie does not exist. You made that up just then.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

ION: Scientists discover swimming ants
They appear in the last ep of David Attenborough's latest special, Life in the Undergrowth! Which I watched not one hour ago! So cool.
Going to bed now. So tired. Teching two shows at once is cra-zee. Also, William Friedkin is a demanding director to work for.
I'm watching Stage Door this morning. Which I've never seen before, so it's like a bunch of familiar quotes strung together at times. Also, it's very interesting that all the sympathetic women are wearing trousers. I want half the clothes, including the long buttoned coat that Katherine Hepburn is wearing when she makes her entrance.
I laid down for a nap around 6pm last night. Woke up at 9 something, stayed awake for like 30 minutes, then went back to bed and just now got up.
It is gray and rainy, so of course I feel like I could stay in bed all day. But I need to get moving or else inertia will take over and I will lose my whole day and be pissed at myself.
Happy belated birthday, tommyrot!
I have stuff to do for all of my classes today. One class only needs two emails sent, but one needs a midterm written. I would much rather lounge.
Happy belated birthday, tommyrot! Best wishes for this new year of your life.
Stage Door is great. I wish there were a good transcript of the thing. I've watched it something like 5 times and there are still lines I'm missing.
Also happy belated bday to tommyrot and congrats to Fay on the Thai gig.
I like whipping cream in my tea and coffee more than half and half.
This post was brought to you by Sunday morning breakfast.
More as it develops.
It was such a lovely day yesterday. I spent way too much money on a pretty, pretty passport holder. Then I had some of the best herb mashed potatoes I've ever had in my whole life. Ever. Then I saw The Libertine which was a truly bad movie with some of my favorite actors ever. But at least I got to tell the Weinstein Company how bad the movie was because they had a market research woman in the lobby conducting surveys on the re-release. Dear Harvey, it's still a really bad movie. All in all a good day.
And now today is grey and rainy and perfect for staying indoors and listening to Otis Redding.
