Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I loooove crunchy.

Also, of course, dip. Actually, I think I'm about to have some raw broccoli with dip.

I don't understand how people who like soy sauce and ginger can not like sushi! Training sushi: Cucumber roll. Unless you don't enjoy the crisp vegetables, I guess.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Of course, you get bonus points if it is a) and b) and c), still wriggling.

Gollum totally wins this.

hip deep in pie

I am slightly evil. Tomorrow is my turn to bring in treats for the staff meeting. About half the staff is on Weight Watchers and they drive me to tears talking incessantly about how many points everything they put in their mouth is worth. So I am making the CI chocolate cupcakes. In recognition of their point counting, I made them in mini muffin tins.

I'm so surprised at all the dislike of crunchy vegetables. I actually dislike most non-crunchy vegetables. Except tomatoes, which are actually a fruit anyway, so I guess that doesn't count.

Of vegetables, I actually dislike most tubers and root vegetables, with the exception of carrots. I dislike most mushrooms (though the standard garden variety are okay by me, at least some of the time), and I am utterly revolted by eggplant.

Forget banana or bread puddings. Or really, any pudding.

Mmmmm..... pudding..... Yum!

I think for me, the sliminess is part of the appeal. But I only generally like sweet slimy foods.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I like sushi (spicy tuna rolls), Indian (buuter chicken), many Chinese dishes.

Thai is ok, but I've oly had Vietnamese once.

I love Cajun cooking (Shrimp etoufee with raw oyster appetizers, and beignets with Chantilly creme for dessert) and all of the Jamaican food I have tried.

I am a food whore.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It turns out I like pretty much all vegetables I've ever tried. But I'm the sort of person who will eat anything, so that's not really saying much. I had sheep intestines last month (grilled) and they weren't bad. And our new roommate made us plov (sp?) which is apparently a Tuvan dish which was quite good, if very oily, and salty milk tea which was exactly what it sounds like, but with more salt.

I love salt, but I have always been afraid of salty tea.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I'm not eating anything with the potential to crawl back up my throat under its own power.

I am in Sara's corner.

Along the lines of eat anything, Lori and I listened to the Deep Ending Dining guy on the radio. Some of the things he has eaten give me the wiggins.

I've been reading about food recently, at least as it pertains to history. The Mongols are a nomadic people and historical their diet was heavy on the meat/dairy end of the spectrum. When they invaded China in the 1200s, they viewed the Chinese as akin to cows since, like cows, they were grass eaters. Conversely, the chinese viewed any partaking of dairy products as lower class, like the barbarian invaders. And that dislike of dairy persists until today.
