Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My mom just moved out of her home of 53 years, so she's got you all beat!

My dad has lived in the same place his entire life - he's in his mid-70s. Although at one point my parents had our 110 year old farmhouse torn down and a new one built in its place. We lived in a trailer house parked on our front lawn for 3 months while the new house was built.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Dammit! My DVR didn't know that the Daily Show was new, so I only just put it on, and it is! BAH.

This happened to me too. So it's not *our* fault.

Tom, that blue looks fabulous!

15 homes.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh yeah, bon, then I looked and it didn't think Colbert was new for the rest of the week, even though it was picking up TDS. FYI.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I think, on a quick count, I've racked up nine homes in 36 years. Apparently this makes me an underachiever.

I sit in the underachiever corner with billytea. I'm up to 7 in 27 years, although soon to be 8.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My parents have owned their house since I was 8. In that period there have been postings to the UK, Canada and Russia. But they still came back to the same house when they had a gap inbetween. And they live there now.

It would only count as one, then, I'm thinking.

Perkins, nothing recieved yet. Hopefully today. It's funny--my chocolate reflex is to share, but there are way too many people at work, and krav already got the chocolates, and even so, my definition of share gets a little "You. Oh, hell, not you, don't even look. Okay *you* can have, but just one." I'd fail preschool for sure. So I eat them all myself! No sharing with people who aren't at my place which means no sharing!

Jesse--received, and thanks. I've skimmed, and it looks very interesting. I fear for my wonkness.

Msbelle, snailmail insent.

No need to fear, ita! I love books in my field.

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

17 homes total in 34.5 years.

14 since the age of 18.

It's not my field, I swear. That's why I fear.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I don't think I'm at a record, but I've managed to rack up 21 more or less what could be considered permanent address changes in 48 years. That's counting the two different places in Spain as one because I had an FPO for those 3 years. I haven't included couches slept on or bases where I went for training between permanent duty stations even if I could because I pretty much never got mail there even if I was there for 4-6 months. However, I can say I've been in the same city now for 10 years, which is a pretty awesome achievement in itself after spending so much time picking up and going in the Navy. (If counting all the couches and in-between places, a grand total of 29.)

Tom, pretty room!
