Wash: Well, I wash my hands of it. It's a hopeless case. I'll read a nice poem at the funeral. Something with imagery. Zoe: You could lock the door and keep the power-hungry maniac at bay. Wash: Oh, no, I'm starting to like this poetry idea now. Here lies my beloved Zoe, my autumn flower, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross...

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

wascally

That's a whole different vibe.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I also don't think Oliver Twist is a rascal. He makes the best of bad situations and comes out with his honor relatively intact.

Bart Simpson is definitely a rascal. And I don't know whether the author would consider comic strips to be literature, but Dennis the Menace.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

When I hear the word "rascal" my mind immediately goes to Rhett Butler.

Also- Holden Caulfield is way to low-key to be a rascal.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Also- Holden Caulfield is way to low-key to be a rascal.

Yeah. And he's pretty much mid-breakdown. He's really more flailing wildly than stiring up mischeif.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Who's Ramona Quimby? Which pic is she?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

The very first one. She's a character created by Beverly Clearly. She's a great character. I think a lot of little girls felt like Ramona could have been written about them. I know I did.

Her wikipedia entry fails to convey the charm she must have to make the list.

Wait, no, Holden's not charming. It fails to convey the charm that would make you identify with her.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Yeah, it does.
