Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Barb, I'd never read anything by her before. That was stunning.

“Not dead yet!”

Isn't it, Deena? She really has an amazing gift and is carving a nice little niche for herself in e-pub. Thing about her, too, is that she's what can be really, really good about e-publishing. It works for her, because of her particular family situation (because of time constraints, she can write in the short formats far more easily, for one thing) yet she never uses it as an excuse to slack on the quality of characterization or plot.

She totally rocks.

I'll be mentioning that story in the next issue of Membra Disjecta, if I ever get it up. I have, I think, bronchitis--something's making it hard to breathe or stay awake longer than an hour at a time anyway. Hopefully it will be up this weekend.

Barb, your friend's story was lovely, although I think I've been reading too much SPN fic, because I couldn't help but picture Thann as played by Jared Padalecki. Not that this is a bad thing, but between the hazel eyes and the shoulders and the shaggy hair, it seemed a perfect fit.

Heh, Suela, you wouldn't be... wrong.

She's a HUGE SPN fan and often uses the boys as avatars.

ETA: Oops, hit post too quickly-- thanks Deena, I know she'll appreciate it and listen honey, feel better first, k?

Thanks guys. I'm frustrated. Doctor again on Monday because this has been going on for about 3 weeks and it's not getting better.

Hah! I am amused. I've spotted these avatars a couple of times, and it's always entertaining. I think the most obvious ones are David and Jonathon in Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series, who are quite clearly Daniel Jackson and Jack O'Neill...
