Also, you can tell it's not gonna have a happy ending when the main guy's all bumpy.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hip hooray! UPS just handed me my Amazon box with the new Libba Bray!

Only 4 1/2 hours until I can go home and start reading! Although I don't totally remember everything that happened in Rebel Angels. Here's what I remember -- Gemma's laudanum-addicted father = oh noes!, new teacher = Teh EVIL, dead!Pippa = not-so-good, cute!boy = not-quite-right-for-Gemma, and IIRC, Gemma now has The Realms *within* her -- is that right?

What else am I forgetting?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

On Livejournal. I referred to a conversation he was having with someone else as "mutual masturbation", and he followed a referrer log or something, found the comment, and called me a homophobe in his LJ.

Was that during his Extreme Stupid It's All About Class, Why Are You Talking About Race? period of being annoying?

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Yeah. My one contribution to that slapfight was pointing out to him that, for a professional communicator, he was having to do an awful lot of clarification and restatement, and that might kinda sorta be a problem.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Because books.

What else am I forgetting?

That sounds right, but I have to reread it before I pick up The Sweet Far Thing.

And something with the Rakshana, but I can't really remember that.

Did he respond to that? (I ask mostly out of curiousity, for in all the times where I've seen that particular point made to people, I've never seen anyone say, "Damn. You're right. I'm not being clear.")

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

IIRC, his response was something akin to "no, it's just that everyone else won't understand what I mean!"

Always Anti-fascist!

Twilight: Compulsively page-turning, but ultimately, sucktastic, imo. reading all of 'em in a weekend didn't really enhance the experience.
