You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Always Anti-fascist!

Twilight: Compulsively page-turning, but ultimately, sucktastic, imo. reading all of 'em in a weekend didn't really enhance the experience.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I can strategically place some postcards 'round the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area, David. Shoot 'em my way.

move out and draw fire

Hec, I note you didn't include the cultural wasteland of WashDC/NoVA on List of Places to Pimp Book, but if you'd like, I'd be happy to seed bookstores and Starbucks (plus clones) and books-and-music stores with your postcards.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Yo! Send them on and I will put them in LA places I frequent, like Golden Apple Comics, Meltdown Comics, local comic shop (Earth 2), Amoeba (if I make it over there - that place is nuts!), and others.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sweet!

Yes, Raq, DC would be great.

Thanks, Jon and GC! Awww, Buffistas are the pimpingest.

Raq speaks for me!

David, I am on personal terms with Capitol Hill's favorite bookstore and am within walking of 2 Starbuck's. Plus various Hill Crowd haunts. I'd be happy to pimp your book.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hec, you DEFINITELY want me to pimp your book here: [link] (Look closer -- it's fucking awesome.)

Not only is it in Cincy, but it's now as close to my new house as Amoeba is to your apartment. So hit me with the postcards, hey?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Sign me up, David. It'll be a good excuse to hit bookstores and Reckless Records and other places my budget doesn't really allow me to go right now.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Well, I've ordered three copies, but I'm sure I can pimp, too!

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I ended up skimming to the end of Twilight. It lost me for two reasons:

1. The vampires were just TOO special. Too much beauty and too many superpowers without enough weak points.

2. The relationship between Edward and Bella was just a bit too much Destined Soulmates for my tastes. I mean, he was first drawn to her because she smelled different?
