Oh my god, I *loathed* Twilight. I thought it was sexist, boring, hackneyed crap. Um, but I have strong feelings about teen vampire novels. There's a squazillion of them out now, though I don't know if many of them are any good. Melissa de la Cruz's series that starts with Blue Bloods is supposed to be pretty good. Jilli, have you read Thirsty by M.T. Anderson? I think you'd really like it.

I read Twilight and didn't think it was any good until the end. I have the second one on hold at the library , but not sure if I'll actually read it.
I have read a number of paranormal romances. Mostly, they suck. In fact I can't really think of any I liked. Read one of the undead/unwed series. and didn't really like and ditto harris and kenyon ( but I tried two of hers)

I read Blue Bloods and was not impressed. Oh we're so pretty and upper-class and old-money AND we're vampires! Teen vampires who are edgy and model designer jeans! Bleeurg.
I haven't read Thirsty, but I'm sure I've had it recommended to me before. I need to add it to the list of books to look for.

ooh, I'd forgotten about R.A. McAvoy - Tea with the Black Dragon is good! and the Lee/Miller Liaden books are very good, although more SF than paranormal. I liked The Tomorrow Log as well. Kim Harrison's books ... can't remember the names ... the first one's good, but I thought the following ones were less good (the main character's a witch, there are vampires, werewolves, etc.).
