I’m thinking of upping my new poetry reading in 2026. And I was wondering if anyone had any recs, please.
I just suggested Marianne Moore and Elizabeth Bishop (with links) on the year-end thread.

I read a couple of Marianne Moore’s poems today. She’s good. I can see some influences from her to Mary Oliver.
Even better, I found a daily poem subscription at the Poetry Foundation, which should help a lot with my resolution.

Calli, Jane Kenyon, Li Young Lee, are the first two that come to mind. Kenyon got me through some dark times.

I've been keeping short story anthologies and poetry at the bedside to keep myself from either reading all night or training myself to fall asleep when I read. Which is to say I'm currently reading the poetry anthology This Is The Honey.

I am about halfway through Girl Dinner (reading for book club) and I really wish the twist weren't spoiled in the book's description because it is taking its sweet sweet time getting there. (I'm assuming it's a twist anyway, because halfway through the book it hasn't come up at all. The plot of this book so far is "two women who do not know each other make one friend each.")

I am currently reading A Closed and Common Orbit, but the couple of times I've been reading, I've fallen asleep. Er, not because of the book! Because I pick it up when I'm tired, apparently.
I did visit and quickly update my Goodreads account, which I' haven't used since 2018, it seems. I figured a permanent record of what I've read would be nice. Last year I kept it on a giant sticky note posted to the wall, which, fun as that was, I'm not going to keep.
