I don't give half a hump if you're innocent or not. So where does that put you?

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Always Anti-fascist!

I wrote this review and wondered if people here want to see it. [link]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I haven't read much (any? Can't remember) Kinsella, but that sounds intriguing

Huh, someone is continuing the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books. Not sure why but I find that surprising.

More relevantly to my immediate reading plans - new Rivers of London just came out! I finished the library book I was listening to driving to pick up lunch (The Mermaid the Witch and the Sea, which I had to take to runs at but ended up liking. It's an interesting take on mermaids. And witches. And pirates. There's a sequel which I have waiting in the wings) so I can start listening to Stone & Sky after work, hooray!

Nice! I just listened to The Disappearing Spoon, which is about the periodic table (and its elements, as you might imagine), and was thoroughly enjoyable and interesting.

I stalled out on reading. I need to figure out where I want to pick up.

Our wings are not tired.

Yes, there were maybe a couple of books written by another author in the series, and now another author is taking up the reins. I read the first two, but I don't think I finished the third written by Larsson.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Read a New Murderbot Story for Free, Right After the Season Finale

In a perfect world, I would be able to spend all day rewatching the season so far, watch the finale, and then read that. Stupid not perfect world

Ooh. I have not watched the show (I have not watched any tv lately, but am thinking of paying for it for a month and bingeing)

It’s so good.

Despite the tragedy of my not being able to spend all day wrapped in a cocoon of MurderBot, the evening of MurderBot finale followed by new story [link] was Pretty Darn Good

Now I want to reread all the books and rewatch the season. That would conflict with all the new books I keep hearing about and wanting to read, alas. Not sure how that’s gonna resolve…

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm using a combination of trade-in, Prime Day, and employee discount to replace my 5 year-old Paperwhite, and really hoping that nobody catches on to the fact that I both confirmed that the trade-in had no cosmetic defects (including marks or stickers on the case) AND added a razor scraper and a bottle of Goo Gone to my order...

(Look, by the time I send it back the claims I've made about cosmetic defects will be true, so what does it matter how many stickers may or may not be on it right now...)
