Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
when and where is your thing happening?
I don't know yet--I figure I'll get an email from SFWA soon to coordinate times and set it up.
I’m enjoying The Chicken Salad War. Having started with the royals, it’s fun to see them through the eyes of others.
Congrats, Susan! Ms. Bujold was always lovely when I was on the listserve for fans of her books.
I wrote this review and wondered if people here want to see it. [link]
I haven't read much (any? Can't remember) Kinsella, but that sounds intriguing
Huh, someone is continuing the Girl With the Dragon Tattoo books. Not sure why but I find that surprising.
More relevantly to my immediate reading plans - new Rivers of London just came out! I finished the library book I was listening to driving to pick up lunch (The Mermaid the Witch and the Sea, which I had to take to runs at but ended up liking. It's an interesting take on mermaids. And witches. And pirates. There's a sequel which I have waiting in the wings) so I can start listening to Stone & Sky after work, hooray!
Nice! I just listened to The Disappearing Spoon, which is about the periodic table (and its elements, as you might imagine), and was thoroughly enjoyable and interesting.
I stalled out on reading. I need to figure out where I want to pick up.
Yes, there were maybe a couple of books written by another author in the series, and now another author is taking up the reins. I read the first two, but I don't think I finished the third written by Larsson.
Ooh, available at my library...
In a perfect world, I would be able to spend all day rewatching the season so far, watch the finale, and then read that. Stupid not perfect world
