Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Amy I’ve been in a reading slump lately. So, I’ve been reading some T Kingfisher books. Currently, The House With Good Bones, which I think is newish and a fast read. I finished Thornhedge last week, which was also a good, fast read. And I recently became obsessed with Jennifer Saint’s Greek mythology retellings.

Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

I have Chuck Tingle's horror novel Camp Damascus sitting next to me waiting to be read. It's gotten great reviews and I can't wait to get into it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Amy, I just started Deanna Raybourn's Killers of a Certain Age on Fay's strong recommendation and I like it better than Veronica Speedwell or Lady Julia so far.

I have Thornhedge but haven't started it yet. Every time I think about starting it I feel like I will get annoyed at having to stop reading to sleep or work or whatever and read something I am looking forward to a little less instead. That can't last too much longer, though.

Because books.

Oh, I have The House With Good Bones on my list! I hope it's good.

I also love A.G. Slatter's newest books, Path of Thorns and All the Murmuring Bones. Very light fantasy, and only connected in that they take place in the same universe.

I started Naomi Novik's Uprooted but got stuck. I'm not sure where it's going, I guess. She doesn't seem concerned with giving the protagonist a clear purpose. Or maybe she does and I'm just not getting it?

Amy, I’m almost done with it. Let me know what you think, when you read it!

I really loved Uprooted, but I guess it does take a bit to take off.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Amy, have you read anything by Grady Hendrix? My Best Friend’s Exorcism, We Sold Our Souls, and The Southern Ladies’ Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires are all fantastic.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I just got Camp Damascus and am ready to read it after finishing an ARC of KJ Charles’ The Nobleman’s Guide to Seducing a Scoundrel. The Romney Marsh two parter is amazing.

Also finished Remarkably Bright Creatures.

Our wings are not tired.

Remarkably Bright Creatures is this month's book club pick so I have to finish it before we meet Monday. Right now it is going slowly, but I am depending on it coming together.

I read Remarkably Bright Creatures a few months ago. Didn't like it as much as I anticipated, but what can you do...

Amy I picked up Needless Street last night based on your recommendation, and I could not put it down. I’m about a 3rd of the way through.
