The mysteries are quite good, and the characters are terrific and there’s some really nice treatment of grief and trauma and morality in an overall very pleasant package. If you like that sort of thing you will probably like these.
Oddly enough, I was just discussing
Only Murders in the Building
with my college roommate yesterday and she recommended those books to me based on our conversation. I hadn't heard of them before.
Well, I'm now 99th on 6 copies of "The Thursday Murder Club" at my public library. Apparently other people have heard that it is good also.
I've had it downloaded for ages because I love Richard Osman. Sounds like I should get to it soon.
I hadn't heard of it before, and I was only vaguely aware of Richard Osman. I guess the second one set some kind of record for sales? Something.
Anyway, haven't seen Only Murders in the Building yet but from the ads I can see where there might be kinship
Things to know about Richard Osman:
He is very smart.
He is very tall.
I had no idea of the tallness. Okay!
There's a 45 minute conversation included at the end of The Thursday Murder Club between him and another author whose name I didn't catch but she wrote The Grown-ups, I think? It's also a good listen. So at this point that is mostly how I know him, I suppose.
My hold came in at the library so I just started Thursday Murder Club last night. I'm quite enjoying it so far.
I like the Paladin books but I really want more Swordheart as well!
Agreed, Consuela. Beartongue meantioned "swords" in Paladin's Grace, so now I want to know what happened.
I have faith we will get more swords. I’m being very patient about it.
