Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I hadn't heard of it before, and I was only vaguely aware of Richard Osman. I guess the second one set some kind of record for sales? Something.

Anyway, haven't seen Only Murders in the Building yet but from the ads I can see where there might be kinship

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Things to know about Richard Osman:

He is very smart.

He is very tall.

I had no idea of the tallness. Okay!

There's a 45 minute conversation included at the end of The Thursday Murder Club between him and another author whose name I didn't catch but she wrote The Grown-ups, I think? It's also a good listen. So at this point that is mostly how I know him, I suppose.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

My hold came in at the library so I just started Thursday Murder Club last night. I'm quite enjoying it so far.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I like the Paladin books but I really want more Swordheart as well!

Agreed, Consuela. Beartongue meantioned "swords" in Paladin's Grace, so now I want to know what happened.

I have faith we will get more swords. I’m being very patient about it.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well, there are two more swords out there ... they deserve their own books.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

If you're reading - or rereading - Dune before the release of the new film, I found this essay worth a look.

Not rereading, (I think I remember enough from my last reread? That may be foolish, we shall see) but that looks fascinating
