Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

In the end it's only ever been one step, and then the next.

{points at what Hec said} Hey, I would like those conditions! I just . . . know better. Which occasionally makes me sad. I don't want to be a grown-up today.

OTOH, not-grown up me would have nightmares after that book, so.

(That was so good.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm always so nervous starting her horror stories because of the potential nightmare factor, but so far I haven't suffered too much and they really are good

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I don't think any of the youngsters on TikTok and Instagram indulging the Cottagecore aesthetic are doing anything other than refining their taste. It's more about decorating your kitchen or planning your Sunday picnic, or doing a garden or laying out an outfit than actually planning on owning a rural cottage.

Nobody into Dark Academia is going to be owning a private college anytime soon, they just like the vibe.

I'm overthinking, I know.

"Sure, cottages are cute but a thatched roof is no picnic! And don't get me started on aphids and dry rot!"

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I like the aesthetic of both cottagecore and dark academia. But I’d like them to come with WiFi.

not your mom's socks.

~t, with permission, I'd love to let Rick know he has a fan. (also stick around for a certain m-preg in space / espionage short story by someone who is likely me in July, maybe)

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I learned to avoid the T. Kingfisher horror stories - read one and it seriously scared me; I was glad I was reading it during the day rather than at night. I do, however, love her other work, so I'll keep buying those.

Please do, hippocampus! And, of course, I will eagerly await July
