Hooray library!
I’ll want to know what you think of Addie LaRue. I can’t quite decide whether I want to read it, for some reason.
'Serenity'
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I loved Addie LaRue, for what it's worth.
Thanks, Pix, your recs have always been reliable indicators for me
t, I read Addie La Rue and while it wasn’t my super best omg book, i enjoyed it (maybe not the very end??) and finished it. Which these days says something.
I just picked up Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo, and I'm really enjoying it.
It's Dark Academia (literally a "what-if those secret societies at Yale were actually doing dark magic") and it's well-written, and it scratches the itch I enjoyed of the scenes at Brakebills in The Magicians.
I loved Ninth House and can’t wait for the sequel!
Dark Academia
I'm ready for the genre of Dark Macadamia. The protagonist is really into nuts...but in a spooky way.
Ninth House was fantastic, although it took me a minute to adjust to the voice and setting after reading all the Grishaverse books.

Terrifyingly delicious! Especially dipped in DARK chocolate!
I am down for the genre of Dark Macadamia with Dark Chocolate!
Ninth House made me kind of anxious because I am all too ready to believe that Yale is actually full of sorcery and whatnot, but I did really like it and cannot wait for the next one. Have not read any of the Grishaverse, probably should.
Hec, you should read A Deadly Education (Naomi Novak, first in The Scholomance series) for a different but very well thought out and highly enjoyable take on magical education.
