You suggested Book of Ages by Jill Lepore so I sent that and Hidden in Plain View : A Secret Story of Quilts and the Underground Railroad and she was very pleased.
aurelia, I'd suggest Never Caught: The Story of Ona Judge (especially since she liked Hidden in Plain View). Also, I enjoyed Bonnie and Clyde: The Making of a Legend by Karen Blumenthal.
As usual, I'm reading books way past their debuts, and I just started
The Monsters of Templeton
by Lauren Groff. Anyone else read it?
Amy, that looks good and it turns out I already own the ebook.
I just finished Catherine House which was so good if you like dark academia.
Oh, that's on my wish list! It looks like exactly my thing.
Way to post and forget half of what I was going to say!
I Monsters
is big and complex but wonderful. I live everything about it so far.
And Kindle $1.99 deals are an indulgence I always allow myself, so I have a zillion books on my Kindle I haven't read yet. The problem is I forget t they're there, so every once in a while I have to scroll through the whole list.
I don't remember hearing about Monsters of Templeton but that sounds interesting. For $1.99? Twist my arm. Why does Lauren Groff sound familiar?
My January magazines just started popping up on my kindle, I don't need to be buying new books. I will have to give myself a stern talking to.
No, I have it in paperback, it wasn't a Kindle deal. For me! It might have been at some point.
Amy is me, if it is $1.99 or less on kindle and I’m even vaguely interested in it, I buy it. Then I can always find something for whatever reading mood I’m in.
The book Amy mentioned is 1.99 today.
