The miniseries is so good. The casting is excellent.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
That's good to hear, but first I have to finish reading it! I'm enjoying the characters so I would like to see how they are cast.
I'm not sure what I think about rereading Anita Blake. It was fun for the first few books but having Anita leave home for an away mission and forgetting to bring along a fuck boy for the ardeur seemed as plausible as forgetting the weaponry and everybody's pants too. Also I hated Richard the werewolf as soon as his character development was clear.
I've been doing nothing but rereads from the home library for months so I ordered books 3&4 from Ken Follett's Kingsbridge collection. Nothing like starting an 800 pager!
Gideon the Ninth which is next in the chute.
I'm about 1/3 through Harrow the Ninth and I'm hoping at some point in the near future to be clued in as to what the fuck is going on. I'm enjoying the ride very much, but this book is BONKERS.
Exactly how I felt! I mean, I loved it but I still don't think I know what was happening, really (not to say it may not be clearer to other readers) and it is glorious!
Everyone loves Piranesi and I want to love it more than I do. Sadness.
Also I'm so happy about the MacArthurs.
So, read Return of the Thief and really enjoyed it but felt like I was missing a lot of references to stuff that happened in earlier books so I went back and read the whole series and I have to say that was pretty darn rewarding. I know this is supposed to be the conclusion and it's a good one, but I hope it isn't the last we see of this world.
Have I mentioned The Midnight Bargain here? Here, let me let the NYTimes do it for me: [link]
OK, I wasn't sure about A Deadly Education when I started it, but before I knew it I was halfway through and mad that I couldn't stay up all night to finish it. And now I have to wait until July for the next one!
It's good, is what I mean to say.
TMW the reviews are SO MUCH BETTER than the book . Don't judge me too harshly, I was not at all sober and Netflix decided I should watch After which was so gorgeously horrible I had to look it up and stumbled upon these reviews. Many of which are absolutely perfect. I DO NOT recommend reading any of this drivel. But parts of the movie were entertaining...as long as you are a grown ass adult who understands what constitutes a healthy relationship and are willing to not think at all for a couple hours.
