So, read Return of the Thief and really enjoyed it but felt like I was missing a lot of references to stuff that happened in earlier books so I went back and read the whole series and I have to say that was pretty darn rewarding. I know this is supposed to be the conclusion and it's a good one, but I hope it isn't the last we see of this world.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
Have I mentioned The Midnight Bargain here? Here, let me let the NYTimes do it for me: [link]
OK, I wasn't sure about A Deadly Education when I started it, but before I knew it I was halfway through and mad that I couldn't stay up all night to finish it. And now I have to wait until July for the next one!
It's good, is what I mean to say.
TMW the reviews are SO MUCH BETTER than the book . Don't judge me too harshly, I was not at all sober and Netflix decided I should watch After which was so gorgeously horrible I had to look it up and stumbled upon these reviews. Many of which are absolutely perfect. I DO NOT recommend reading any of this drivel. But parts of the movie were entertaining...as long as you are a grown ass adult who understands what constitutes a healthy relationship and are willing to not think at all for a couple hours.
That first review is amazing! Sounds like a fascinating phenomenon I want to keep a safe distance from
The narrator of The Hollow Places is called Carrot and I like her.
It's definitely horror.
Y'all. The Once and Future Witches. So very good.
Just finished Harrow. I think I liked it better, even, than Gideon, and I think it should be nominated for a Hugo. The narrative structure was really interesting and engaging (if a bit of *work* to follow) for me, although I could see others finding it off-putting.
But, I mean, come on, in has an in-universe barista AU . I liked that I thought I was figuring things out, but it turns out that, no! There's a whole other layer of THINGS.
Right? Glorious. I should get to my audiobook reread soon...
I randomly found myself thinking, apropos of nothing but regarding Harrow, "and it would surprise you to learn that planet-killing necromancers are perhaps not the good guys?" I'm gonna say it takes some sharp world building to put me in that position.
To be fair, I'm not sure there is a GOOD guy to be found.
Although I'm quite glad we got to spend more time with Abigail and Magnus, and actually got to meet Dulcinea.
