I started listening to The Sandman and I'm not sure how I feel about it. It's okay, but I think it will work better for someone who doesn't essentially have the comics memorized. There's something about the expanded descriptions in the narration that are falling flat for me. I know they were developed from all of the notes to the artists in the original script, but they don't hit the sweet spot of descriptive enough without overwhelming the rest of the story.
I'll probably stick with it through "A Death in the Family", out of cautious curiosity for my favorite.

Yeah the descriptions more remind me of the images than are fully evocative. I have been thinking it would be an interesting exercise to listen to this while simultaneously reading the comics.
I somehow didn't realize until just now that it's only through Midsummers Nights Dream. I suppose I should have known from the running time it wasn't complete, but I did assume.

Even the people who didn't like it were kind. Which I love. It's got just enough history to be tasty but accuracy? Not what I was looking for.
It had some good cliff hanging chapters which were wrapped up rather quickly. I crowdsourced the ebook but I will buy a copy because I enjoyed it. The author is recording the audio and I hope it turns our good. I will probably try that one, too.
