Mal: Hell, this job I would pull for free. Zoe: Can I have your share? Mal: No. Zoe: If you die, can I have your share? Mal: Yes.

'The Train Job'

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I cannot quite believe that today's development is that the president-elect of RWA lied about knowing Chuck Tingle.

Wait, what?

I'm almost impressed by the RWA's implosion. If they had deliberately said "Hey, let's self-destruct," it couldn't have happened this thoroughly. But here they are.

I am the GIF of Michael Jackson eating popcorn.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That makes slightly more sense than what I was imagining, actually. The whole Courtney Milan thing is so surreal, I am ready to believe just about anything

Whaaat? That is so weird. The whole thing is...so confusing and bizarre.

Because books.

RWA has been on the verge of imploding for many years. It's a shame because Courtney did so much heavy lifting to drag it into this century, and yet...

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Such a mess. And I'm still astonished at the naivete of the people who went after her. Did they think she would simply slink away? Have they seen any of what she's done in the past in her other career?

Because books.

Right? If anyone is going to mobilize people absolutely clearheadedly, it's her.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I got a kick out of "So now you're talking to lawyers? Now? Okay, there will be a brief intermission while I squee about ice skating!"
