This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So, Amazon now has a 1-click buy box for "Next in series" that shows up on the thank-you page when you buy a book that's part of a series.

It's...a little bit dangerous.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, that may cause me some financial distress.

So, about half into Space Opera and thinking about casting Decibel Jones. My first thought was Janelle Monae, and my second thought was Tom Holland but they are both too young, so then I thought Edan McGregor would be fun although he is not at all ethnically ambiguous and then I thought of Naveen Andrews and I bet he would be very pretty in eyeliner and rhinestones so I think he's my choice.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Anyone else read or are reading Our Kind of Cruelty, by Araminta Hall?

I'm 1/3 of the way in (just finished Part 1) and whoa. It feels like Boy Gets Girl from the guy's point of view. Suuuuper creepy.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I thought of Naveen Andrews and I bet he would be very pretty in eyeliner and rhinestones so I think he's my choice.

Oooooooh, he'd be good!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Just finished The Calculating Stars by Mary Robinette Kowal, and I enjoyed it immensely. It's basically the novel I wanted to write (or read) after I heard about the Mercury 13.

The status is NOT quo.

Yes! I read that recently, too. So good!

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I thought of Naveen Andrews and I bet he would be very pretty in eyeliner and rhinestones so I think he's my choice.

I have zero familiarity with the book in question, but I just felt the need to add my vote: Yes to Naveen Andrews in eyeliner & rhinestones!

I was ready to cry when Oort found the costumes they had grown. Robert!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I am reading The Calculating Stars right now and it is indeed FG.
