Seems like 2 separate questions to me. Reading the name doesn't give you the pronunciation. Watching Four Weddings and a Funeral on the other hand...
I only got it when I read a romance novel where there female protagonist 's nickname was Sinjun
I learned it from a bad '60's era sitcom called O.K.Crackerby. Crackerby was played by Burl Ives and his assistant was named St.John Quincy, and the running joke was the assistant constantly correcting the pronunciation of his name by pretty much everyone.
Edited to note that it was effective, since I've certainly never forgotten the pronunciation.
