yeah, I really enjoyed the concept, and the beginning of the book, but eventually I think I got to the part where
the British girl's brother steals her skein via surgery?
And somehow I just couldn't get back to it, kept reading other stuff until it expired.

Easily one of the best things I read last year.
Just read The Girl with All the Gifts. Now I've gotta go back and see what you guys had to say when you all read it!
eta: Except my threadshearching skills are apparently lame and I am defeated in my search. Anybody more skilled than I want to point me towards a date or post number? Thanks ever so.
Okay, I just read/skimmed all of 2014 (it was nice to see ita and Ginger again), and never found a word about The Girl with All the Gifts. I would absolutely swear I remember seeing people talking about it here. Am I imagining it?
edit: friggin' autocorrect
I don't remember hearing about it, but that doesn't mean much. The summary looks interesting.
meara, that whole part was where I was like, this is horrible.
We talked about the movie version of The Girl With All the Gifts in Movies.
Yeah, the part where
Roxy's dad transplants her skein into her brother
was horrifying and made me so angry. Although
at least the brother does get a satisfyingly awful comeuppance.
