yeah, I really enjoyed the concept, and the beginning of the book, but eventually I think I got to the part where the British girl's brother steals her skein via surgery?
And somehow I just couldn't get back to it, kept reading other stuff until it expired.

Okay, I just read/skimmed all of 2014 (it was nice to see ita and Ginger again), and never found a word about The Girl with All the Gifts. I would absolutely swear I remember seeing people talking about it here. Am I imagining it?

Yeah, the part where Roxy's dad transplants her skein into her brother was horrifying and made me so angry. Although at least the brother does get a satisfyingly awful comeuppance.
