Oh, I love that. It's just so right.
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I haven't read the Toby Daye books yet, either, and I'm behind on the Incrypdid series. Predictably, my favorite character(s) are the Aeslin mice.

I pretty much love everything Seanan McGuire writes and consume it as soon as it's finished. For anyone starting the Toby Daye books, though, be aware that the writing gets a lot better after the first book. That may have been her first book, actually. I just know that I wasn't sold at first and fell in love with the series after I read 2 and 3.
I got through the first 4 Harry Dresden books, so if there's only 1 Toby Daye book that's not as good, I can totally handle that!
I have 2 more books to read in the Harry Dresden series. I can't believe it I thought there were more.
I'm still iffy on them.
I think they have big flaws, but they're entertaining popcorn books for me.
I like them and I skim a by and then go re read. I feel that at times there is too much in the books but also too much time between the books so I get lost in the timeline and feel cheated a bit out of story.

Yeah, the first Toby book was a slog for me, mainly because it was also an info dump as I think I said at one point. But it WAS fun to re-read after reading the whole series. I love her "family" now and who ever said Connor was a drag was right on the money. Never got the appeal.
