I also really like Amos. Hmmm.... my favorite characters are the ones who swear the most. Does that say something about me? Oh well, fuck it.
Does Syfy let Chrisjen and Amos swear in the TV series? It would be a shame if they couldn't. Not sure how they could talk.

Yes, mostly. Syfy's language censorship is weird - they mute the vowel when characters say "fuck" so it sounds like "f-k" but then a few episodes back, Margot on The Magicians referred to herself as "a manipulative cunt" which they let air in full. And even the f-bomb censorship is pretty half-assed. I'm not sure I'd notice it at all except I watched the first season of Magicians on Netflix.
In S1 there was much less swearing, apparently because Shohreh Aghdashloo wasn't comfortable with it. But in S2 she's Book!Chrisjen in full force.

This is not on Netflix in Canada and I've been waiting forever for the DVDs at the library. Harrumph.
Bonus info: the actor playing Amos was reading the Expanse when he got called for the job. Made it more awesome to watch.
Ooh, I didn't know that about the Amos-actor - very cool.
That's cool. I've only watched the first show in the series. That got me to start the series. It's much easier for me to listen to the audiobooks while commuting than setting aside time to watch TV.
Amos is among my favorites. Avarsawala & Bobbi Draper too
I particularly like it because Wes Chatham is such a piece of beefcake I was surprised he reads for pleasure. Apparently he was really thrilled by the story and now he gets to bring it to non readers who like tv. Depth!
I'm very glad to have started Foreigner from the beginning. I had forgotten almost all the detail and the political subtext is comforting. Excellent job, Solano County Library, in making the series available to me!
Eta: although the map in my head is mirror-reversed and I can't seem to fix it. Every time they say west I am picturing east and vice versa. Weird. And took me almost three books to realize.
Con or Bust's 2017 auction is live. Tons of books, signed books, story critiques, and other stuff.
