Early: So is it still her room when it's empty? Does the room, the thing, have purpose? Or do we -- what's the word? Simon: I really can't help you. Early: The plan is to take your sister. Get the reward, which is substantial. 'Imbue.' That's the word.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have hooked my mom and maybe my dad on LibraryThing. This may involve me scanning their books for them, but ultimately will make it that much easier for me to browse their shelves, so I'm counting it as a win.

I tag all my books to make sure my tagging system is complete and not redundant.

I'm massively impressed by this. I can see that it's a good thing, but how to do it is so beyond me I wouldn't even know where to start. Neat.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I'm in the Consuela and Lee corner. Attacking my books with LT sounds like a freakin' nightmare, not a jolly exercise in geekdom. Scary. But y'all go on and have a good time with it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Hi. I've been feeling pouty that the discussion never took off on the LT Buffistas group, and I TOTALLY FORGOT WE HAD A LITERARY THREAD HERE.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

This weekend, I build bookshelves and finish unpacking los books! And then upgrade to a paid membership on LT.

brillig

I just chortled when I realized there was a WHOLE BAG of unsorted books in the dressing room.

I had the same response when I realized one of the shelves in the living room was actually doublestacked and there was a whole row behind the first that I hadn't gotten to yet.

It's a sickness.

Amy, I've tagged all my books now (at least preliminarily), so it should be easy for you to check out any romances you would want me to pass on!

And I'm totally fantasizing about new bookshelves now...

Because books.

Yay! I will go browse your collection ...

sumi, what's squickily incestuous about the Tolkien book?

Art Crawl!!!

I believe that the curse that causes the downfall of the family is the result of sibling incest. If I'm recalling the Silmarillion correctly. I suppose the Encyclopedia of Arda would help.

Art Crawl!!!

Sorry about that.

Of course, the Silmarillion has been out for 30 years so it can't really be that spoileriffic.
