I also loved the first part of A Discovery of Witches and the second half was fun in a different sort of way. Shadow of Night was ok, but the third book left me cold.
Having read the description for A Discovery of Witches, it sounds like the sort of thing I might like. But my to-be-read stack is nigh-overwhelming!
I'm re-reading Wolf Hall right now. Hilary Mantel continues to amaze.
