became all vampire witch romance intrigue
Wait what hello? Should I investigate these books?
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Amy, I read Girl on the Train last week. And truly, I didn't like any of the characters, but I enjoyed it so much more than Gone Girl.
Yeah, no one is really likable, per se, but I have to know what happened. Hoping to finish it tonight.
I started A Discovery of Witches a while back and was bored with the beginning, but I'm going to give it another try at some point.
I loved the world-building and the details of scholarly life in a library.
My favorite part of the whole book was the picture she draws of academia. Pretty spot on. I also love the Bishop family house.
I also loved the first part of A Discovery of Witches and the second half was fun in a different sort of way. Shadow of Night was ok, but the third book left me cold.
Having read the description for A Discovery of Witches, it sounds like the sort of thing I might like. But my to-be-read stack is nigh-overwhelming!
I'm re-reading Wolf Hall right now. Hilary Mantel continues to amaze.
I've got that on deck to read when I finish Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell
So many books, so little time
Kat, someday I want to do a book club with you. Just putting that out there.
My May book review column is up, if you're looking for new book recs!
