The history angle is what I'm interested in, I think I've read too many vampire romances to be that interested. It's sitting in the car and I read a few bits if I'm waiting at a drive through or just enjoying the rain.

Rayne, I read it. And then re-read it recently. The first book was ok. I loved most of the second book. I disliked the third the first time I read it, but liked it much better on re-read.

I read the first two but haven't read the third yet. Now that it's summer I'll be reading it soon. I enjoyed them as a quick read with some fun history thrown in, but suspect I'll actually enjoy her historical books more. I met Deb this past April when she came to speak at the Undergraduate Writers Conference at 'SC. She's really nice, fun to talk to, lots and lots to say.

hmm, I read Discovery of Witches and liked it at first, then felt like it got too romancey and heroine being dumb for me. Read the second one and was very meh on it. Haven't gotten to the third one. It was entertaining, though.

I got about a third of the way through Discovery of Witches, and then got distracted by something shiny. It wasn't terribly compelling, to me. My sister liked it a lot, though.

I really liked Discovery of Witches and loved Shadow of Night. I recently re-read them both before reading the final book, which was good, but the second one is still my fave.
DoW is pretty much love it or hate it. The first half is pretty slow, but I loved the world-building and the details of scholarly life in a library.

I really liked that part, and liked it less when it became all vampire witch romance intrigue etc. ...I may have missed the point of the book. :)
