Thanks Strix. That might work.
'Hell Bound'
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
In case I can't grab the Runaways today, are there any graphic novels within the Marvel Universe, specifically Ultron or Avengers related that would also be good for a 13 year old? I'm sure he will be seeing the movie.
Pick up Young Avengers !
Thanks, P-C, that looks good!
I'm not sure this qualifies as "literary" but it was either here or Bitches: were-cuttlefish m/m erotica. The reviewer was disappointed that there were no tentacles involved.
Has anyone read the complete "All Souls Trilogy" which started with A Discovery of Witches?
I just finished the first book and have some mixed feelings, and I'm curious what people thought if they completed the complete trilogy?
I've been trying to read Discovery , but it's not very gripping.
My wife LOVED discovery. I found it... problematic and a little boring but not without merit. She was less fond of the second book, which I found much more interesting. Less stupid romantic plot line (though more sex, if that helps/hinders anything) and far more historical knowledge for the sake of it. I never bothered to read the third one, but I think she liked it better than the second.
She describes it as Twilight for smart people, which, okay. I enjoyed some of the bits for smart people but never quite made it past the twilight parts in my head.
I couldn't get through the kindle sample of Discovery.
The history angle is what I'm interested in, I think I've read too many vampire romances to be that interested. It's sitting in the car and I read a few bits if I'm waiting at a drive through or just enjoying the rain.
