Probably! Any idea what he likes? Is he already into graphic novels, and if so, do you know any that he's already read?
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
He is already into graphic novels, but he doesn't live nearby so all I know is that he read Bone several years back and loved it and I think he still likes superheroes. I plan on including a gift receipt.
Eesh, my 13 yo is a superhero veteran, and now he's way into Deadpool. but those are not something I would start out a newbie on.
What about Runaways? It's not a graphic novel per se, becausse it's on-going but you can get it in book-form collections. It's quite good, and Whedon did a run for it.
Thanks Strix. That might work.
In case I can't grab the Runaways today, are there any graphic novels within the Marvel Universe, specifically Ultron or Avengers related that would also be good for a 13 year old? I'm sure he will be seeing the movie.
Pick up Young Avengers !
Thanks, P-C, that looks good!
I'm not sure this qualifies as "literary" but it was either here or Bitches: were-cuttlefish m/m erotica. The reviewer was disappointed that there were no tentacles involved.
Has anyone read the complete "All Souls Trilogy" which started with A Discovery of Witches?
I just finished the first book and have some mixed feelings, and I'm curious what people thought if they completed the complete trilogy?
I've been trying to read Discovery , but it's not very gripping.
