Wow, Jilli, are you okay? I mean, do you need medication or something?
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I am being a responsible adult.
I DON'T WANT TO.
Dammit, book! Right over there! Still in an ambiguous state of "Might be better than Blood Canticle"!
I feel you. I have two books I'm salivating over I have not bought yet because adulting.
BAH.
BAH!
I love that chart. Pete says I am not to use it as an aspirational checklist.
Jilli - what is the book that you are denying yourself?
I have been making use of the uni library to get things like "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. . . picked it up yesterday and read about a page.
I still owe the public library my heart's blood so I cannot yet take books out there.
Meanwhile, Amazon tells me that my copy of the new Rothfuss has arrived. . . I'm not sure I recall what happened in the first two. Should I dive in? Or re-read?
sumi, it's not the third book. It's a novella about Auri, so as long as you basically remember who she is, you should be fine.
Thank's P-C.
Jilli - what is the book that you are denying yourself?
Prince Lestat, the Brand! New! Anne Rice Novel! Which is supposed to be set immediately after Queen of the Damned, which means none of the body-switching, Lestat goes to Heaven/Hell/trips balls nonsense! Just ... Lestat having been a rock star, being kidnapped and fed super-powerful ancient blood, and nearly helping to destroy most of civilization?
Look, I know they're lurid and cracky books. But, Lestat! My one true charming monster woobie!
Ah.
I should have guessed - but I quit the Anne Rice habit some time ago.
