Hey! What do you two think you're doing? Fightin' at a time like this. You'll use up all the air!

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Because books.

That was AWESOME. (I finished it Friday night and never posted.) Also sad! But appropriate, and *also* hopeful and full of possibilities!

I'm going to finish Maisie Dobbs and wait for another paycheck before I think about the next Montmaray, though. See me being virtuous.

Hee! You why I kept referencing I Capture the Castle? The others aren't so much like that, but they're still lovely. I really loved the characters, even the dog.

Carlos is fantastic. And yes, I want to reread I Capture the Castle as soon as I finish these books. I loved that one.

For whatever reason, Veronica FitzOsborne reminded me of Plei. I kept seeing a very young Plei with long hair and very intense eyes.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I'm wanting to add novel, et al., reviews....but I don't think it's very politic for me on my business site.

It seems I take the Goodeads road, though I heard it can be confusing.

Or...I can redo my older blog; there are so many cool things to blog about.

not your mom's socks.

There are a lot of great books mentioned in today's SFSignal Mind Meld by authors including Laura Anne Gilman, Bradley Beaulieu, Sherwood Smith, Aliette de Bodard, Kat Howard (sorry I'm kind of melting down because I'm smished in there among all these fabulous people). Worth a read.

Sox, that's a great entry (I admit that sometimes I find the Mind Meld pieces pretty dull). Which reminds me of that marvelous Yuletide story in which Anthony Bourdain goes to Narnia--if you haven't read it, I can supply a link. It's quite wonderful (and written by a friend of mine).

No Reservations: Narnia [link]

... and now I'm rereading it, because it's really that marvelous. I'd forgotten much of it.

Ok, I think someone here rec'd Best OfAll Possible Worlds? I downloaded e sample, and all I can think is "is this Trek fic post Vulcan-destruction, with the serial numbers filed of?" That's not necessarily a BAD thing, but I'm curious.

'Suela, you've mentioned that story before, but this was the first time I actually followed the link to read it, and oh, wow, it's so good! I don't even like Anthony Bourdain much, but that story is just delightful.
