I started getting getting choked up when I was reading Augustus and Hazel's perfect dinner in Amsterdam.
It made me remember the first time I read a book that really gutted me and that was when I was reading The World According to Garp and I got to the part where Garp says, "I mith him."

Okay, I need some hivemind help. Elie Wiesel (I think!) has a quote about writing poetry that I want to reference. It's something about how poetry comes from suffering and then people tell the poet, oh, suffer again, so we can hear the exquisite sounds of your groans.
Something like that. But much better. Can anyone find it for me? My google-fu is failing.

Has anyone read "Fated" (an Alex Versus novel)? I'm in the middle of it right now and I think it is scratching a particular itch for me. I'm enjoying it, though I'm a bit lost in the world-building.
