It shouldn't. She was great in The Descendants and won a ton of awards.
Oh, good! I wasn't aware she'd been in anything else. ABC Family is just on in my house enough that Secret Life is all I recognized her name from.

I'm about halfway through this myself, based on, if I remember correctly, Pix's recommendation. I'm definitely enjoying it. Good to see another rec!
It is such a cool story! Very different, and nice to see a girl main character kicking ass all over the book without being anybody's love interest.
