What's Bradbury's scariest story to you?
"The Playground"! Yeesh, that's a gut punch. And there's a TV version of it from the show Ray Bradbury Theater starring Wm. Shatner. I haven't seen it though.
That's a story where I think you can see a direct influence on Harlan Ellison's short stories, especially something like "All the Birds Come Home To Roost." The horror of your past revisiting you.
Nevermind, thought you said King.
What's Bradbury's scariest story to you?
I haven't read "The Playground" in ages. But his scariest story for me is "All Summer In A Day".
Speaking of Cold Kiss, it's a free book today on Nook.
Really? I thought that was supposed to be the end of the week.
I haven't read much Bradbury (yet!), but "The Veldt" creeps me the hell out. I read it at least ten years ago and it still lingers vividly in my imagination.
I'd suggest that you don't read "The Small Assassin" until Rose is much older.
But his scariest story for me is "All Summer In A Day"
You mean "Children Are Bastards"?
I loved King's "On Writing," so I guess I'll have to find "Danse Macabre."
Me too. Of course horror scares me so they will be the only Stephen King I ever read. But I really liked "On Writing."
Sadly, "Danse Macabre" isn't available as e or audio from my old library. I just checked. Or, drat, my new library. I could have used that as a poke to go get a new card. (Still keeping my old one.)

Do you want me to send it to you?
Do you want me to send it to you?
Send it to me too, again, pretty please?
