Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

brillig

The only Narnia movie I've seen is the first one, so I have no clue who the actors are in the others.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The quiz thingy won't let me past the first question.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I got 8 out of 10. I missed the first one and the Narnia one.

Sad to hear about Bradbury.

Also, I now kind of want a thread (I kid) or some place where P-C can read GoT and post his reactions, and we can comment on it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I've been posting my reactions on Mark Spoils, so you can stalk me there. There is a lot of laughing at me in rot13 and wanting to pinch my cheeks because I am so unprepared.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I'm sad to hear about Bradbury passing. I have only ever read Fahrenheit 451 and some of his short stories. I should fix that.

I got 10 out of 10 in the quiz.

"The Homecoming", From Dust Returned (which is about the family in "The Homecoming", and Something Wicked This Way Comes. Those are my recommendations.

(Did anyone have a bet with themselves as to how long it would take me to make that sort of post? Anyone?)

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I think my first encounter with Bradbury was the October Country collection. Man, there was some messed-up stuff in there.

Oh, and:

It's big, it's broad, it's broad, it's bright,

It fills the sky of All Hallow's Night

The strangest sight you've ever seen,

The monster tree on Halloween.

Mike Wallace interviewed Ray Bradbury the night of the Apollo 11 moon landing - you can watch it here:
