Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

RIP, Ray Bradbury.

Oh man, end of an era. Still 91, not too shabby.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

I'm actually sitting here crying about Ray Bradbury. He was supposed to live forever.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

RIP, indeed. May you sail through the late night skies on beautiful green wings, Mr Bradbury.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

He was supposed to live forever.

That's why he wrote those stories.

Now he can unfurl his leathery wings like Uncle Einar and go soaring out over the hot summery days.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Speaking of Bradbury. I'm trying to locate this essay: “How Instead of Being Educated in College, I Was Graduated From Libraries.” Which was in Wilson Library Journal.

Librarian Warlord

Wilson only has that journal (it's Wilson Library Bulletin) online from '84, Kat.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The IO9 article on his death is getting some really good comments. He sounds like he's had a lovely impact on a ton of people--not just through his writing, but also directly, in person.

I have to go look up that quote about people dying three deaths.
