Has anyone read the YA book Shiver, about a young woman and a young werewolf? I read it yesterday and really liked it and am thinking of buying the sequel today!
Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I haven't yet, but I gave it to the neighbor kid, who loved it, and I just loaned it to my niece.
I picked up a copy at the library sale and currently have it about 3 books down the to-be-read pile. Glad to see the rec.
For Parasol Protectorate fans - seemingly there is (or will soon be) a manga version of Soulless.
The Soulless manga is out (and it's adorable!), and the manga for Changeless should be out in late November.
Jilli -- I read the last Vampire Kisses book! I honestly didn't expect it to end the way it did. I was totally expecting some soul-searching conversation about how being a vampire is not what it seems, etc., and that Raven would end up choosing to stay human and end up with Trevor.
It was very sweet, and a great distraction last week.
Teppy, I had the same thoughts, in a no, no, no! -dreading sort of way. So I was absolutely thrilled that Raven became a vampire! (Of course I was.) But besides my obvious biases, I was really glad that the author didn't take the expected, here's your After-School Special Message -sort of ending to the series.
Hmmm. Maybe I'll reread it tonight. It was so cute!
I have read Shiver. I liked it well enough but not enough to wait and then buy the new book that came after.
I did, however, love her Scipio Races which was amazing. Highly highly highly recommend.
So I liked Greenwitch more than the first two books! I don't think I'll end up loving the series, but I'm hoping I can eke out a general like now.
Jo Walton catalogs (and, best of all, links) to stories that have pulled titles from Blake's Tyger and Marvell's Mistress. I like this so much, I'm trying to ignore the 1st paragraph typo that I'm sure they'll fix soon. [link]
I've joined goodreads! I don't suppose there's an easy way to find friends without letting it search my email or connecting to fb?
