Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Is it a romance or straight historical fiction?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is it fantasy YA, Sox? Something like Eva Ibbotson might have written?

information libertarian

Mmmm, I'm guessing YA-ish. It doesn't ring a bell. Do you know the LJ community "what was that book"? They are pretty awesome (a lot of librarians on there.) [link]

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

not your mom's socks.

It is fantasy - I think... I'll check on Eva Ibbotson. Thanks for the links Tom and Flea.

Because books.

Anyone know of any cozy mystery series with a witch/Wiccan as the amateur detective?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

They aren't really mysteries, but the magickal heronine of the Barbara Bretton "Sugar Maple Chronicles" owns a yarn store....

not your mom's socks.

I am totally stumped by how to post to What Was That Book - I joined, but I'm obviously doing something wrong. Sad now.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

i'm currently reading Buttons and Bows, a "magical dressmaking mystery" with "First in a new series!" on the cover. The heroine does call herself a witch, though not wiccan.

Because books.

Is that Annette Blair, -t? I remembered she had something like one (she used to be one of my romance authors), so I looked it up and got a few hits. But I think her series is "Vintage Magic," as in a vintage dress shop, and she's psychic, not a witch.

Sox, when you go to post, look at the pull-down menu that says "post to". It's defaulted to your journal, but every community you join should appear in that menu. Just click to the right one.
