Damn you both. I just bought Death Bringer from a seller on Amazon. I was being SO GOOD, but I just can’t wait any longer!

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.
There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."
I agree with you on all that. I have to wonder if Desmond is more than he seems. I mean, he threw a guy through a window. Can he really be as helpless and harmless as he seems? I kinda like the reporter, although I don't want the mortal world finding out about magic to be a big thing.
And I just realized moments ago that Skulduggery is to Ghastly as China is to Skulduggery. That's gonna be bad when/if it comes out. I am sincerely bummed that China's library was destroyed, though I am more ambivalent about her actual self.
Eta: sorry, Pix!
Oh my god, you're right about Skulduggery and Ghastly. Although I understand the distinction between Skulduggery and Lord Vile (it seems to be like Angel and Angelus), but I don't think that Ghastly will see it that way. At least, not right away, if at all.
I've been re-reading the books in backwards order recently (Death Bringer, Mortal Coil, Dark Days, The Faceless Ones), and I noticed that in Dark Days, there was the scene where Davinia Marr had a meeting in a deli with a man described as "the man with golden eyes." And then in Mortal Coil, the man with the golden eyes was in the scene in Roarhaven where the Torment buries Tesseract alive. And now I can't remember if the same character was in Death Bringer. But I'm assuming we're going to see the character again, and I'm wondering who it's going to turn out to be. Mevolent? Because it sure seems like the books are working towards the return of Mevolent.
What also struck me in the past few books is that Skulduggery has mentioned his family -- as in, parents and brother, not his wife and child, who we know died -- and so I'm wondering if any of his family is going to be introduced in the upcoming books. I can't imagine they'd be mentioned in more than one book and then just dropped.
And his family crest, which he declined to discuss, I think that'll turn out to be significant somehow.
I was watching for mentions of a man with golden eyes in Death Bringer and didn't see any, although someone, maybe a couple of someones, had their eyes described as beautiful but no color mentioned. I think the Dead Men we just met? That and Eliza Scorn's comment about having friends that Skulduggery thought were his friends has me worried about the newest Grand Mage.
Darn you all, the library doesn't have all of them, so I don't want to skip ahead and miss stuff, so I haven't read any but the first. Normally I read whitefont anyway, but I'm resisting now.
Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere is available for $2.99 on the Kindle today - [link] No idea for how long.
Yeah, I think Skulduggery's family crest has been mentioned in at least 2 books.
Who is the newest Grand Mage? Erskine Ravel? I really don't want him to turn out to be bad.
I'm intrigued by Dexter Vex. I don't think his eye color was mentioned.
No, I don't either. But I am worried. Because apparently everyone has secrets! Which probably doesn't need whitefonting but I have been surprised by the extent to which it is true.
I think it was Dexter Vex who was described as having "the most beautiful eyes" but no color specified, which I find either highly suspicious or clearly a red herring, depending on my mood.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I agree about Desmond -- throwing the purse-snatcher through the window is a little suspicious in terms of having magical ability, although not outside the realm of possibility for regular strength (like people who lift cars off their kids because they're having an adrenaline surge, etc., which seeing your wife get mugged could certainly cause). I can't really decide whether I like the idea of Desmond having magical abilities or not. Sort of yes, but sort of no.
Yeah, I don't know how I want that to turn out.
