On Tolkien - one thing we tend to forget is, popular "wisdom" used to be much more tilted toward "nature", and it's swung a
loooooooooong
way towards "nurture" over the past 50-odd years. Anything we read from back then is seen through that filter.
Also, Mark just read about Treebeard, and WOW THAT'S A LOT OF CAPSLOCK.
Oh holy heck! You weren't kidding about the capslock!
AT SOME POINT CAPSLOCK LOSES ITS EFFECT
EVEN IN BOLD
IT STOPS MAKING ME THINK EVERYTHING IS EXCITING AND JUST MAKES ME THINK THE KEYBOARD IS BROKEN.
Yes, somebody needs to deactivate the capslock key on Mark's keyboard.
But then he'll lose half of his ability to express emotions.
He has a Capslock review every once in a while. It's a trope of his board.
In short: he's excited about Ents.
I don't know if I'd call that a trope so much as a bad habit, honestly.
I think a trope is a bad habit that's hip.
edit: sorry, I'm feeling particularly cane-shakey today.
He could mix it up with
italics
bold
underline
it would make some of it easier to read.
And yeah he's excited about the Ents and I'm sure before the end of LoTR he'll have another few posts that are all IN CAPS BECAUSE IT WILL BE THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER, EVEN BETTER THAN THE ENTS!
