'Beneath You'

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well, I'm now on a sugar-free, carb-free diet ... or lifestyle as the case may be. I've had to start cooking again.

Always Anti-fascist!

do y'all that have Kindles have cases? Because some people on Amazon say after cases theirs didn't work so well, but three percent of people on Amazon never like ANYTHING, so...

I prefer keeping my Kindle in a case. I carry it around in a pocket of my purse where I also stash pens, pencils, other stuff and want to have something between the screen and all my other junk.

My Kindle 3 had a case that hooked into the Kindle and I never had a problem with it, tho' I have read that other people had issues. My Kindle Fire has a case that is held on to the Kindle by elastic bands. I've only had it for a couple of weeks so I don't yet know how well it will last.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I got a custom quilted thing on Etsy. Love it.

I currently have the amazon-made case that is boring and black and hooks into the kindle. I like that it hooks in but the elastic strap has completely stretched out (in a year) and is kinda useless now. So I ordered a new one (with a pretty cover) and will see...it was supposed to get here yesterday but I think is delayed with the snow!

Art Crawl!!!

I have a case for my kindle and it works fine.

I love McKillip. The one I've read most recently was the Bards of Bone Plain and it was lovely.

I want more Cordelia from the Vorkosigans.

I loved the Chalion books and found the Sharing Knife books lacking.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do you guys use covers that you read with the Kindle in, or more like envelopes? I hate both my Nook and my tablet in covers that I'm supposed to operate them in. No added bulk or form factor.

Oh! Found the Chalion book on my shelf. I don't remotely remember any of it.

hip deep in pie

I have one of the ones that hooks into the Kindle, and I kind of like it, except that it's hinged on the left, like a book, and gets a bit in the way of the left-side control buttons. I am left-handed so I like to use those buttons. I often end up folding back the cover of the case like a pback novel cover.

information libertarian

I have found that the Kindle screens are a little sensitive to what I think is crush injury (from being in a backpack with other things) so I have an Amazon brand case that's hard and has the hook-in. I like it ok but it makes for less one-handed reading. (Not that this is a bad thing for me - I dropped a Kindle and broke it while one-handed reading and carrying laundry down a flight of stairs.)

Because books.

I got a really nice leather case for my Kindle, and I use it with the Kindle inside. It attaches with the four elastic corners, too, but since it's only a few weeks old, it's still nice and tight. I didn't think I'd be able to use it to prop the Kindle up, but I can with this one, horizontally.
