Now I have the third but not the second of the Hunger Games trilogy out from the library. I put both on hold, but the 3rd came available first and I was afraid not to get it. I think the 2nd actually is available, but was in a different section. Will have to check when I return the other stuff.
I reread Mansfield Park. It was okay. I think my biggest objection was the ending, wherein Austen seems to get bored and figure everyone knows how it's going to turn out anyway and just quits the narrative to tell us what happens.

I thought she always did that. She's the queen of the abrupt ending. "Reader, I married him." Boom!
Psst, "Reader, I married him," was Bronte.

Yeah, see I thought that was too punchy and apt for Jane.
Not that she can't be punchy and apt, but her endings do tend to trail away rather than end with a bang line.
I had HUGE issues with Mansfield Park, mainly having Fanny marry the man who was her moral and intellectual inferior! AND and and NOT TO MENTION making Fanny Price the heroine is like a slap in the face to Lizzie lovers everywhere! fie!
Teppy! Thank you so much for recommending Skulduggery Pleasant! I have burned through the first two and am currently geebling through the third. SO much fun!
Yeah, I had a fit about Mansfield Park about 100 posts ago. It's just so blah compared to other Austen.
Pix, you are gonna love the rest of them. Like Harry Potter, they get darker as the audience matures. I am waiting for my latest one to arrive with baited breath!
Yeah, your fit about it was why I reread it!

Also, I love China Sorrows more and more with every book. Even when I shouldn't.

Oh my lord, yes. Really. I'm still not over the [spoilery] thing in the latest book.

Man, I need it to get there so we can talk about the thing and the OTHER thing.
