Don't belong. Dangerous, like you. Can't be controlled. Can't be trusted. Everyone could just go on without me and not have to worry. People could be what they wanted to be. Could be with the people they wanted. Live simple. No secrets.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Yes, I did! I only had paperback, and I got rid of it long ago, but I read it so many times.

I shouldn't expect any better from Frazetta, right? [link] Forgive my pickiness, but it was a key plot point that she was dressed like a dude. I THINK THEY WOULD HAVE NOTICED ARMORED BOOBIES.

Because books.

Lois Duncan and Lois Lowry were two of my favorite authors growing up, and I didn't know a lot of other big readers then, so I love hearing people who know of them.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I really like the expression in dcp's link.

My major takeaway from all of this? OMG I LOVE EOWYN!!@!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Eowyn was seriously one of my first role models, the first time I remember thinking "holy shit, girls can be awesome!" We had a record of RotK from the animated movie, and so I remember that phrase from a decade before reading the books.

Gah, I really hope they make a book of all those pictures. BUT NOT THE STUPID ONES. If I ever have a daughter (or, heck, a son) I'll frame some for her walls.

"already on the kiss-cam with Karl Marx"-

I read a lot of both Loises, but the one I remember most is Killing Mr. Griffin.

Because books.

Anyone want to help with a guest blog post I have to do? They want to know my ten favorite literary couples, and I'm coming up short. I have seven so far:

1) Jane/Rochester
2) Kit/Nat (Witch of Blackbird Pond)
3) Jo/Professor Bhaer
4) Clare/Henry (The Time Traveler's Wife)
5) Hermione/Ron
6) Aislinn/Seth (YA, Wicked Lovely)
7) Claire/Jamie (Outlander)

Who am I missing? Or who are some of yours?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Raven/Alexander (YA, Vampire Kisses)

... I suppose Morticia/Gomez doesn't count, since there aren't really any Addams Family books. ('tho good G-D, I would kill to work on books for that.)

Because books.

Oh, man, that would be fun, Jilli. It could be a YA! Their early days!
