Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I would so buy a calendar of Eowyn pictures. Gah. Right now I'm trying to pick one to use as a desktop.

Because books.

I love the Nouveau one.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I like this one, for the expression. I like that all we see of the Nazgul is the shadow, but the rest of the shadows in the picture are off.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I love how faithful this one is to the little details, so much packed in: [link] Theoden, the broken shield, the tears in her tunic and scratches on her face, Minas Tirith and the battle raging in the background.

I love the arc of the Nazgul's steed's wing in this one: [link]

Like the style, but hate her pose - "Talk to the hand, foul Dwimmerlaik." ::scuffs foot on bloody field:: [link]

Right now, this is winning for my desktop: [link]

Because books.

smonster, did you see in Natter whatever day I was echoing your Down a Dark Hall love? I actually still have my original copy in hardcover. LOVE.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Yes, I did! I only had paperback, and I got rid of it long ago, but I read it so many times.

I shouldn't expect any better from Frazetta, right? [link] Forgive my pickiness, but it was a key plot point that she was dressed like a dude. I THINK THEY WOULD HAVE NOTICED ARMORED BOOBIES.

Because books.

Lois Duncan and Lois Lowry were two of my favorite authors growing up, and I didn't know a lot of other big readers then, so I love hearing people who know of them.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, I really like the expression in dcp's link.

My major takeaway from all of this? OMG I LOVE EOWYN!!@!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Eowyn was seriously one of my first role models, the first time I remember thinking "holy shit, girls can be awesome!" We had a record of RotK from the animated movie, and so I remember that phrase from a decade before reading the books.

Gah, I really hope they make a book of all those pictures. BUT NOT THE STUPID ONES. If I ever have a daughter (or, heck, a son) I'll frame some for her walls.

Always Anti-fascist!

I read a lot of both Loises, but the one I remember most is Killing Mr. Griffin.
