Inara: So, explain to me again why Zoe wasn't in the dress? Mal: Tactics, woman. Needed her in the back. 'Sides, those soft cotton dresses feel kinda nice. It's the whole... air-flow.

Literary Buffistas 3: Don't Parse the Blurb, Dear.

There's more to life than watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer! No. Really, there is! Honestly! Here's a place for Buffistas to come and discuss what it is they're reading, their favorite authors and poets. "Geez. Crack a book sometime."

Art Crawl!!!

Wow, Erin does excellent threat.

Also: okay - got ADWD - read like the wind. Now all !!!!! But not sure who I can talk to about it.

Impression - having read the whole book:

NOT JON SNOW!!!! noooooooo

I may reread and have a more reasonable response. At some other time. I do have thoughts on the topic that is spoilered.

Such as: if warging ability gets amplified by trauma perhaps Jon getting Julius Caesared will cause him to warg into Ghost and uh. . .maybe somehow they can heal his body and uh. . would that work? I keep hoping that the kids and the wolves will get back together. Perhaps via Wargmail Bran and Jon will somehow meet up. The tree thing in Melisandre's vision suggests some sort of Bran related influence. (Also - Dunc totally is Hodor's Grandpa. Of course, Dunk probably has descendents all over Westeros.) I hope in WoW that Davos does meet up with Osha and Rickon although I didn't get the hint of where they were that GRRM gives us.

And very thin on the Jaime. . . I suppose that the word that Brienne said was "Arya." But she doesn't actually know where Arya is. .. but then I thought, perhaps Arya will be crossing the Narrow Sea again.

I remember somebody somewhere (here?) saying that the Dany and Jon stories - were the least believable but I think in this book we certainly see that although they are in positions of power they cannot use that power effectively. I mean, here is Jon trying so hard to do the right thing and winding up isolating himself and surrounded by enemies - most of them in the Night's Watch. I wonder if the Wildlings with Val will be the ones to come to his defense, save his body and with the Boar-warging guy - try to save his life. I believe that Melisandre should have realized by now that Jon is her whatever the thing is that she is trying to make Stannis into. Meanwhile, Dany can't seem to take a step forward, no wonder GRRM called it the Meereen knot.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Erin does excellent threat

True, but one quibble -- change "girl" to "boy."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I just finished Deadline, and it fucking rocks, and if you have an ARC of Blackout...I'm gonna call your mom and tell her you are secretly married to a Roman-Catholic girl as pale as snow, who works in a sweat shop when she's not moonlighting as a call girl.

Lucky for me, it's not an ARC, just the first draft! Will you hurt me if I say that I think I liked Blackout more than Deadline, if only because we get Georgia's voice back ?

There are people with ARCs of One Salt Sea, however, and I am envious.

P-C I devoured the two Newsflesh books - and it was totally cool to see your name in the acknowledgements.

ABE Books piece about Georgette Heyer.

It's funny because I didn't do shit on the first two books. I am retroactively earning my credits on Blackout.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

P-C, you did encourage a lot of us to read her books - that has to count for something.
